Zandra Rhodes Fall/Winter 1994 “Divine Diva” Party Dress — Style 94/610

An exceptional Zandra Rhodes party dress from the Fall/Winter 1994 “Divine Diva” collection, identified and confirmed by the Zandra Rhodes Foundation through the original collection archive and design sketch. Style 94/610, this design was one of just three party-dress designs created for the collection.

Rendered in dramatic black, the gown features a fitted metallic-textured wrap bodice with sheer sleeves, a romantic off-the-shoulder neckline, and elaborate tassel and passementerie trim. The voluminous high-low skirt is built from cascading layers of sheer black fabric, richly draped and swagged through the hips before extending into a sweeping train.

A rare, highly theatrical example of Rhodes’s 1990s work, combining historical dress references, ornate surface treatment, and the romantic fantasy central to the “Divine Diva” collection.
